Surgery Overview

We know your time is valuable and the breast reconstruction process can be overwhelming, so we have included links to pre and postoperative instructions for you to print and review.  The preparation for surgery varies based on the procedure type and the individual.  The preoperative instructions will help you understand how to prepare yourself for the procedure.  A member of our staff will go over step by step instructions with you prior to your surgery. The postoperative instructions also vary depending on the individual and the procedure type.  Someone from our staff will go over the instructions before your surgery as well as before you leave the hospital. 

You will also find the forum and dreamers pages helpful as you are approaching your surgery and during your recovery.  The forum is a great way for you to connect with other patients, ask questions, and also read responses to questions other patients have asked.  The dreamers’ page provides you with information about the DREAMERS (Dare to Restore Eradicating loss of Abdominal Muscles Enhancing Reality with Sensation) support group and a way to contact a DREAMERS member.
